Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes is determined to halt MCE British Superbike Championship leader Shane 'Shakey' Byrne's winning streak at Snetterton.
Lowes edged ahead of the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider during the recent BSB test at the Norfolk circuit, where Jakub Smrz was the surprise package on the Padgett's Honda as the Czech rider topped the times from the title protagonists.
At Knockhill, Lowes failed to finish on the rostrum for the first time this season but the Scottish circuit has never been a favourite of the Honda rider and he is now looking forward to Snetterton this weekend.
“The season has been going well so far and I am enjoying racing more than ever at the moment.
“The Samsung Honda guys have all been working hard and we had a positive test at Snetterton, which means we can arrive for the race ready to go as we did a good race simulation,” said Lowes.
“I made a mistake at Knockhill but we got a fourth place in the second race and if that is classed as a bad weekend I will take that, because Knockhill has always been my bogey circuit.
“I am feeling good, the team are working well and hopefully we can move forward and fight for the wins as I want to stop Shakey.”
Lowes is third in the championship standings after the first four rounds, six points behind Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes and 36 points adrift of Byrne at the top.
