'Happier' Kiyonari continues to make improvements

9 July 2013

Ryuichi Kiyonari maintained his new-found form at Snetterton as the Japanese rider finished fifth and fourth.

After a lacklustre start to the season, Kiyo was back to something like his old self at Knockhill in Scotland, where he finished on he rostrum twice in third place.

The Samsung Honda rider, who has won the MCE British Superbike title three times, is now up to fifth place in the Showdown standings and is looking ahead to the next round at Brands Hatch.

“
This weekend we have had some improvements again. I was happy before qualifying with tyre life and lap times but then something was different for race day, which meant we were not as close to the first group,” he said.

“I thought we had things good but it changed and I am not sure why, maybe it was cooler than in the races, but I am happier and ready for the next round at Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit which is good for me.”
