Experienced team boss Jack Valentine has joined MCE British Superbike outfit Halsall Racing for the remainder of the season.

Lee Costello has twice finished in the points in the past two rounds of the series and Valentine hopes to lead the Martin Halsall's team to more solid results.

Valentine, a hugely respected figure in motorcycling and former World Superbike team manager, will be on board with the team from next weekend's meeting at Brands Hatch.

"I met with Martin and the team at Snetterton and I was impressed with both the set-up of the squad and the Kawasaki," said Valentine.

"We can all work together to move the team up the leader board as they have big potential and we saw last weekend at Snetterton that Lee can make big steps forward in one weekend.

"For me personally it was nice to be back in the BSB paddock and myself and Martin have already been looking at how we can develop the Superbike project further for the remainder of this season and also in the future."

Valentine has been involved with MV Agusta and Gary Johnson this season at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT after parting company with the Fixi Crescent Suzuki World Superbike team last year.

Team owner Halsall said: "We have big plans for the team and we want to be pushing the boundaries and moving forward.

"Already we have achieved the first goal which was to score championship points, but now we need to be looking at the next step and that is a top ten finish.

"We are an ambitious team and one that is also determined to deliver because I am dedicated to making the dream of becoming a serious contender in BSB a reality."
