Ryuichi Kiyonari remains in firmly Showdown contention after continuing his mini-revival in the MCE British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch.
The Japanese rider took third in race one behind Josh Brookes and team-mate Alex Lowes before finishing fifth in race two.
“The first race was quite tough, we had made some changes after warm up and it didn't feel as good,” Kiyonari said.
“It was hard to push as hard as I would have liked. It is good to be on the podium but I wasn't happy with my pace because I couldn't get closer to Josh and Alex at the end of the race.
“In race two we tried hard but I couldn't push as much as we would like. I now look forward to Suzuka and the 8-Hour race.”
Kiyonari is fifth overall in the championship standings, 10 points behind Milwaukee Yamaha's James Ellison and 10 ahead of Jon Kirkham on the Buildbase BMW.
