Quattro Plant Kawasaki has confirmed it has parted company with Danny Buchan after six rounds of the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship.

A former Superstock 1000 front runner, Buchan joined Quattro Plant Kawasaki at the beginning of the year after impressing with an eye-catching part-season turn aboard the MSS Bathams Kawasaki in 2012.

However, the 20-year-old has struggled to match that form on the ZX-10R this season and having injured his back in an accident at Oulton Park, has managed just two point-scoring finishes this year.

"Quattro Plant Kawasaki have today agreed to part-company with Danny Buchan," read an official statement. "This season has proved to be very difficult for both Danny and the team to find a good setting along with some technical issues and some crashes.

"Team owner Peter Extance expressed his disappointment that it didn't work out with Danny and wishes him all the best for the rest of the season.

"The team will announce a replacement alongside Chris Walker in due course."

Buchan's team-mate Chris Walker is currently eighth in the BSB standings with a best finish of fifth place.
