Easton frustrated by race two defeat

25 July 2013

Mar-Train Racing's Stuart Easton was disappointed to miss out on the chance to seal a double at Brands Hatch as the Scot attempts to reduce the deficit to British Supersport title favourite Alastair Seeley.

Easton lost ground in the championship battle with two below-par results at Snetterton in the previous round, while Gearlink Kawasaki rider Seeley inflicted maximum damage with a brilliant double.

The 30-year-old clawed back some points as he won the opening race at Brands as Seeley finished second, by the Mar-Train Yamaha rider had to give second best to Seeley by a mere 0.004s in the second race.

“I had two good races at Brands and my Mar-Train Yamaha was fast, the set up was good, and everything was there to win the races,” Easton said.

“It's very difficult to break away in British Supersport though, which usually means a last lap dust up, and then it can go either way.

“That's exactly what happened and whilst I'm a little frustrated to lose race two by such a small margin, it was a good to be back on the pace this weekend and I'm looking forward to Oulton.”

Seeley now leads the championship by 40 points ahead of the next round at Oulton Park.
