Barry Burrell could be making a return to the MCE British Superbike Championship after being lined up to replace Danny Buchan at Quattro Plant Kawasaki.

Burrell competed with Buildbase BMW in 2011 and 2012, the Briton coming very close to breaking his and BMW's BSB podium duck during last season's finale at Brands Hatch on the way to 14th in the overall standings.

Unable to secure a BSB ride in 2013, Burrell has been competing in the German-based IDM Superbike Championship, but says he is chasing the opportunity to ride the Kawasaki ZX-10R for the remainder of the year alongside Chris Walker after a productive test at Oulton Park.

Buchan parted ways with Quattro Plant Kawasaki earlier this week and is now expected to ride the Seton Tuning Yamaha in the Supersport class.
