Quattro Plant Kawasaki has confirmed Barry Burrell will join the team for the sixth round of the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park.

The team was left with a vacancy on the Kawasaki ZX-10R after parting ways with Danny Buchan following Brands Hatch, but has now decided to sign Burrell following a recent test around the Cheshire circuit.

Marking a return to BSB competition for the Briton, who rode with Buildbase BMW in 2011 and 2012, Quattro Plant Kawasaki owner Peter Extance was pleased to be welcoming Burrell into the team.

"Following a successful test at Oulton Park we are pleased to welcome Barry to the team for the next round of the championship. Barry was always on our radar and now to have him onboard is a welcome surprise and hopefully both the team and Barry can work well together and move forward.

"Barry will need some time on the bike having not ridden the new generation Kawasaki, but we feel he should be up to speed and competitive ready for qualifying and race day."

Burrell has spent his 2013 season competing in the German-based IDM Superbike Championship.
