Milwaukee Yamaha's James Ellison has pinned his hopes on three rostrum results at the MCE British Superbike Championship triple-header this weekend as the Kendal rider attempts to consolidate his place in the all-important Showdown.

Ellison, who finished on the rostrum as the runner-up in the first race at Oulton Park on his previous visit to the Cheshire course, is currently holding fourth position in the championship on 120 points, ten clear of Samsung Honda rider Ryuichi Kiyonari and 90 points behind third-placed rider Josh Brookes.

"We have proved this season that we can be up the front and challenging for the podiums but there have been a lot of different circumstances that have put us out for a few reasons," said Ellison, who was third fastest during FP2 at Oulton this afternoon.

"I am really enjoying riding the Milwaukee Yamaha and this weekend we are going to look at how we can make some more improvements to the stability of the front so we can be later on the brakes to try and make some more passes on the likes of 'Shakey', [Shane Byre] Josh [Brookes] and Alex [Lowes].

"We want to be fighting for those podiums this weekend in the three races and because the leading four of us are all racing different bikes the places to find an advantage over each other vary over a lap," he added.

"We are ready to have a good battle and I am really looking forward to it."
