Alex Lowes heads into qualifying for the eighth round of the 2013 MCE British Superbike Championship as the firm favourite for pole position after topping final practice by almost half a second.

Already safely through to the Title Showdown with two rounds remaining, Lowes comes into the weekend chasing podium credits and having already been quickest during FP2, he furthered his advantage in FP3 to put more than four tenths between himself and Shane Byrne.

A strong session for the anticipated title contenders, Lowes and Byrne headed up Josh Brookes and James Ellison in third and fourth positions respectively, with young rookie PJ Jacobsen rounding out the top five on the Tyco Suzuki.

Continuing to impress since switching to Halsall Kawasaki, Tommy Bridewell was sixth fastest, ahead of GBmoto Honda's Peter Hickman, while Buildbase BMW's Jon Kirkham and James Westmoreland sandwiched Ryuichi Kiyonari to round out the top
