James Westmoreland won't be taking any prisoners at this weekend's MCE British Superbike round at Donington Park as he launches one final bid to break into the all-important Showdown.

Westmoreland is five points outside the top six places, with team-mate Jon Kirkham currently occupying the final Title Fighter position in the standings.

Both riders are vying to give the team its first taste of Showdown competition and Westmoreland's weekend game plan is a straightforward one: To finish ahead of Kirkham in both races.

"Cadwell Park was the worst weekend of the year for us but we had another test before Donington Park to iron out a few things as we have struggled at the last two rounds," said Westmoreland, who confirmed team orders won't come into place this weekend.

"We are one hundred per cent sure that the Buildbase BMW will be better suited to Donington Park and we want better results there.

"I am not going to approach the weekend any differently as we know what we need to do - it is all or nothing now and we need to get more points than Jon.

"If he is fourth and then the goal is simple; I need to be third. It is as simple as that," he added.

"I know I need to beat him and push as hard as we can; there won't be any kind of team orders but we do want a Buildbase BMW in the Showdown."

Westmoreland blames three DNFs this season for impacting on his chances of making the Showdown places but his bad luck has not lessened his resolve to achieve his goal on Sunday.

"We obviously don't want to take each other out or anything like that, but I won't be looking at Jon in any other way than as someone else I need to beat," he said.

"This year we have had three DNFs that weren't my fault and that is racing so these things happen.

"I wanted to be in the Showdown last season and just missed out so I don't want to be in the same situation again."
