Fresh from his double success last time out at Cadwell Park, Alex Lowes picked up where he left off in the first dry session of the weekend at Donington Park as he topped FP3.

Following Friday's washout, the Samsung Honda was straight up to impressive speed during the final practice session before this afternoon's qualifying, turning in a lap time at the end of the session some half a second faster than his closest rival.

That closest rival came in the form of Tommy Bridewell, the Halsall Kawasaki rider impressing as he looks to make a final push towards reaching the Title Showdown this weekend. Series leader Shane Byrne was third fastest, ahead of another of the Title Showdown contender James Westmoreland in fourth.

Josh Brookes rounded out the top five, ahead of Keith Farmer – who was fastest in the wet -, Ryuichi Kiyonari, James Ellison, Josh Waters and Jakub Smrz. Jon Kirkham, who currently holds down the crucial sixth and final Title Showdown spot, was 11th best.

It's a shame Tommy didn't have the best start to the season. Clearly he would have been in the showdown working with Halsall Racing from the beginning
