Samsung Honda's Alex Lowes heads to Assen for the first MCE British Superbike Championship Showdown round as the form man following a brace of double wins.

Lowes has won four races in succession at Cadwell Park and Donington Park to slash Shane 'Shakey' Byrne's advantage to six points as the series enters its decisive phase.

High on confidence, Lowes is relishing the challenge this weekend as he attempts to put Byrne's bid to win a record fourth BSB crown under further pressure.

"I can't wait for Assen, there was a really great atmosphere there last year and I am really excited about going back there and the start of the Showdown," he said.

"We will be giving it everything; I don't think it is going to be easy but we just need to stay focused on our performance and try to do the best job we can.

"I know for sure who I need to beat and that is the other five of us in the Showdown."

Behind Lowes, Tyco Suzuki's Josh Brookes is only 11 points adrift in third place and the Australian will be pushing hard to reignite his own title challenge at Assen, where he stood on the top step last season.
