MCE British Superbike title hopeful Shane 'Shakey' Byrne is sporting a tongue-in-cheek design on a new Shoei helmet at Silverstone this weekend poking fun at his Assen clash with Alex Lowes.

The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki star - seeking a record fourth BSB crown - was leading race two at Assen when he was struck from behind by the Samsung Honda rider, who was later excluded from the results.

Byrne tweeted a picture of his Shoei helmet, which includes a graphic on the back showing the pair in close contention accompanied by the words: 'Warning: Objects ahead may be closer than they appear'.

Following the clash at Assen, Lowes apologised on Twitter and Byrne said the pair were 'still cool'.

Byrne leads the championship ahead of the penultimate round at Silverstone by one point from Lowes.
