PBM confirms BSB plans for 2014

Reigning champions Paul Bird Motorsport will retain a presence in the MCE British Superbike Championship in 2014, once more with Kawasaki machinery.
Paul Bird Motorsport has confirmed it will retain a presence in the MCE British Superbike Championship in 2014, ending speculation that it was set to focus entirely on its MotoGP effort.

Team manager Paul Bird, whose eponymous outfit races under the Rapid Solicitors' Kawasaki moniker in BSB, had previously alluded to plans to withdraw from BSB at the end of the year, but with just two rounds of the season remaining, he has revealed plans to remain in 2014.

Set to continue its partnership with Kawasaki, PBM's confirmation comes as Shane Byrne looks to defend his BSB crown to become the first rider in the series' history to win four titles.

Though no riders have been formally announced as yet, Byrne is tipped to stay with the team, while his main rival for the BSB title, Alex Lowes, has been linked to joining PBM's MotoGP team.

No riders confirmed yet? maybe the Crash.net reporters should try watching BSB coverage then because Paul Bird was quite clear when interviewed in saying next year will be Shaky + another front running rider who he could not announce yet because they are currently riding for another manufacturer. It has already been rumoured that this other rider could be Tommy Bridewell especially after Shaun Muir ( Milwaukee Yamaha ) said he wanted to sign him for next year but he had to be quick because another top team was offering him a ride.
