Easton confirms BSB return with PBM in 2014

'Really happy to be returning to BSB with PBM in 2014' - Stuart Easton via Twitter
Stuart Easton will return to the MCE British Superbike Championship in 2014 with Paul Bird's Kawasaki team.

The Hawick rider, currently leading the British Supersport Championship by 19 points for Northern Ireland outfit Mar-Train Racing, confirmed the news via social media outlet Twitter.

Easton, who has a long association with the Cumbrian entrepreneur, wrote: 'Really happy to be returning to bsb with pbm in 2014 but next week is my 100% focus and winning the bss championship for @martrainracing.'

Mar-Train Racing is now seeking to secure a replacement for the 30-year-old next season with a message on the team's official Twitter account stating: 'We can confirm that Stuart is parting company with martrain racing at the end of the year to rejoin the Superbike paddock…We are currently exploring options for 2014 but at present are 100% focused on winning the 2013 title with Stuart.'

Easton last rode for Bird in British Superbikes in 2012.

Meanwhile, British Superbike star Shane 'Shakey' Byrne took to Twitter yesterday to declare that he has not yet signed a deal for 2014 with Bird.

Byrne, chasing a record fourth BSB title, tweeted: 'Quick suggestion, never believe anything u read regarding 2014 unless it's an official PBM press release or from me, no deal done for me yet.'

Whether Alex Lowes goes to MotoGP or not, 2014 will be anything but average in BSB! Look at all the talent that has risen to the top this year, most notably TB46 and PJ99, besides Brookes and Ellison will both be hungry to improve on this year, and who knows what the likes of Easton, Farmer and Westy might pull out of the bag. Halsall Kawasaki have fast bikes and the GB Moto lads will be up there if they can find a few more horsepower. Oh, and there's also the small matter of John Hopkins amd Tommy Hill... I'm excited already! :)
