Triple Endurance World Champion Julien Da Costa will compete as a wildcard entry at four rounds of the MCE British Superbike Championship for Honda Racing this season.
Da Costa will combine his return to BSB with his commitments in the Endurance series to enable Honda to continue its development of the CBR1000RR Fireblade this year ahead of a proposed full-time return in 2015.
“I have signed with Honda Europe to compete in the World Endurance Championship on a CBR1000RR with Freddy Foray and Sébastien Gimbert, but I will also be in a few races in British Superbike,” said Da Costa.
“The official Samsung Honda team, who were champions in 2013 with Alex Lowes, still want to come back as strong in 2015 so they asked me to participate in the development programme with test sessions and four races during the season.
“I will participate at Snetterton, Donington Park, Silverstone and the final round at Brands Hatch, which should be exciting.”
Da Costa previously competed for MSS Kawasaki in the British Superbike Championship in 2009.
