John Hopkins set to make Suzuki BSB test return

Former MotoGP rider John Hopkins will be riding the Tyco Suzuki for the first time in BSB testing at Cartagena this week.
John Hopkins will return to the saddle this week as the preparations for his MCE British Superbike Championship comeback with Suzuki get underway with testing in Spain.

Hopkins, a BSB runner-up in 2011, will make his return to competition this season after taking an injury-enforced sabbatical last year, the American joining Tyco Suzuki for his comeback.

Hopkins will be out on track at Cartagena alongside a handful of other BSB contenders, including Josh Brookes, Tommy Bridewell and Ian Hutchinson, and after such a long period out, Hopkins says he is looking forward to getting back to action.

“It's good to be here and meet my new team and I'm looking forward to my first track action on the Tyco Suzuki.”

Hopkins will be joined in the Tyco Suzuki team this season by Australian rider Josh Waters, who will also be present during testing.

Its been long since Hopkins has been in the shape hes now, hopefully he can stay healthy from now on. To me this is really exciting as thinking Suzuki MotoGP move. They have Randy developing the bike whose star has dimmend down on recent years. Laverty testing the bike who is one of the top guys in WSBK. Lowes the new commer who was right away on pace with new bike, electronics, tyres, track... and then they have former MotoGP rider Hopkins. He will definetly be one of top riders in BSB coming season. Will they pick one of these "Suzuki" riders or do they try to secure some big name from GP paddock.
