Ellison, Walker set for GBmoto BSB test

James Ellison and Chris Walker will get their first taste of Lloyds British GBmoto Kawasaki BSB machinery in Spain this week.
James Ellison and Chris Walker will begin the next phase of their established motorcycle racing careers when they jump aboard the Lloyds British GBmoto Kawasaki for the first time during British Superbike testing at Cartagena.

The pair, who have 391 BSB starts between them, join GBmoto for 2014 as the team looks to develop into regular podium contenders for the first time.

Switching from Milwaukee Yamaha to GBmoto Kawasaki – which itself is moving from Honda machinery -, 2013 Title Showdown contender Ellison is looking forward to sampling the ZX-10R at the Spanish venue.

“It's been a long winter so I can't wait to get out and shake off a few cobwebs! I'm really excited to finally get out there and try the Lloyds British GBmoto Kawasaki, I've heard lots of great things about the ZX-10R so am looking forward to trying it for myself. Naturally there's a bit of apprehension with trying a new bike, but Chris speaks really highly of it and the guys at the workshop have put an incredible amount of effort in, so I'm confident it's going to be impressive!”

Though more experienced with Kawasaki machinery having raced the ZX-10R for the last four BSB seasons, Walker is looking forward to joining the GBmoto set up.

“I'm itching to get going now, it's the same every year – up until Christmas I'm happy but then through January and February the bug returns and I want to get back on my bike! The entire GBmoto team have been working hard over winter building the bikes, and aside from the name on the tank it's going to be a completely new machine for me.

“It's got more torque, different suspension, new swingarm – the only things that are the same are the peg positions are bars. That gives me a real boost for this season, the team have spared no expense and in turn I've upped my training and truly believe we have a package to challenge for the Showdown.”
