Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider Shane 'Shakey' Byrne lauded his MCE British Superbike double at Brands Hatch on Easter Monday as the 'perfect start' to his title bid.

Byrne won the re-started first race, held over a 12-lap sprint distance, from Lloyds British GBmoto Kawasaki riders Chris Walker and James Ellison and held off a late surge from Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes to complete a brace in race two.

"This is the perfect start to the championship for me and it really has been a great team effort and I am proud of the boys for the work they've done to turn the bike around after the crashes," Byrne said.
