Buildbase BMW's Ryuichi Kiyonari has opened up quickest for the fourth round of the 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship in a closely contested FP1 session at Knockhill.

The Japanese rider - who scored a double podium finish for Honda at Knockhill last season - was quickest for much of the FP1 session, his effort of 48.417secs proving a mere 0.005secs quicker than championship leader Shane Byrne on the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki.
