Josh Brookes has expressed his delight at returning to winning ways with a comprehensive double British Superbike Championship victory at Thruxton.
The Milwaukee Yamaha rider put on a fine display of precision riding in both races to haul his way to the front of the field before easing away to the chequered flag.
His first double win as a Milwaukee Yamaha rider, though the result doesn't make much of an imprint into Shane Byrne's comprehensive championship lead, the precious podium credits it generates puts strengthens his position for 2014 Title Showdown should he go ahead and qualify.
“I am certainly pleased with the double win and it is a great result for Milwaukee Yamaha. I am really enjoying this moment of being back on the top step of the podium after some rounds where we haven't been, but I think sometimes you have to remember that racing Superbikes isn't easy.
“I kept pushing as hard as I could where I was strong and riding through the areas I didn't feel as good. I maintained good lap times in the first race and the gap just grew and grew. It has been exciting for me to win and I want to see if we can do the same at Oulton Park now.”
Brookes now returns to Oulton Park in just a few days' time, where he was a race winner earlier in the season.
