Milwaukee Yamaha's Josh Brookes continued to set the benchmark at Oulton Park as the Aussie rider put a flying late lap to top FP3, dipping inside the lap record.

Brookes, boosted by a superb double in the previous round at Thruxton, set the quickest lap of the weekend so far in 1m 35.356s to lead the way by 0.443s from team-mate Tommy Bridewell.

Buildbase BMW's Ryuichi Kiyonari was third fastest in 1m 35.823s as the Japanese rider narrowly edged ahead of Shane Byrne on the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki ZX-10R (1m 35.833s).

Kiyo held the top spot for much of the morning's final practice session on the S1000RR until the Yamaha pair upped their pace in the closing stages, with Bridewell hitting the top before he was usurped by Brookes, who won at Oulton back in May.

Jon Kirkham, who had climbed to fourth at one point on the Halsall Racing Kawasaki, came off at Old Hall but escaped unscathed.

He still ended the session in fifth spot overall behind Byrne, with the top six rounded out by Bathams BMW veteran Michael Rutter.

RAF Reserves Honda's Peter Hickman, Chris Walker on the GBmoto Kawasaki, Czech rider Jakub Smrz (Millsport Ducati) and Quattro Plant Kawasaki's Dan Linfoot were the top 10.
