Filip Backlund has been named as Ian Hutchinson's replacement on the FFX Yamaha for the remainder of the 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship season.

The Swede is currently fourth in the Superstock 1000 standings - having finished third overall in 2013 -, but will now turn his attention to Superbike competition for the final four rounds of the year with FFX.

Backlund joins in place of Hutchinson, the multiple Isle of Man TT winner having called time on his return to BSB competition ahead of the weekend's Cadwell Park round after a difficult season on the Yamaha YZF-R1.
