Former European Superstock 600 Champion Jed Metcher will make his MCE British Superbike Championship debut at Assen this weekend after being called up to replace Keith Farmer at PR Kawasaki.

Winner of the fiercely competitive 2011 European Superstock 600 Championship, Australian racer Metcher scored a series of top ten finishes in the World Supersport class in 2012 before finishing fourth overall in his first season of German-based IDM Superbike racing last year.

Having recently returned to European competition in the Superstock 1000 series, Metcher will now appear in BSB on the PR Racing Kawasaki in place of Brands Hatch podium winner Farmer.

"I've had one of my most up and down seasons ever this year so I'm more than happy that John Jameson and the PR Racing team has given me the opportunity to ride their Superbike," said Metcher, who beat new World Supersport Champion Michael van der Mark to the 2011 SSTK 600 title.

"I've had some experience with the ZX-10 in Australia now and really enjoy riding the bike. I need to thank Rob Vennegoor from RT Racing Support for working tirelessly to keep me racing."

Metcher will be one of four unfamilair faces on the BSB grid at Assen this weekend, with Dutchman Kevin Valk riding the TAG Kawasaki, World Superbike standout Christian Iddon riding the Alstare Jr Bimota and Joe Burns all making an appearance in the annual 'flyaway'.
