BSB Silverstone: Brookes won’t change approach for Silverstone

Josh Brookes insists he will continue to go all out for victory at Silverstone despite declaring his BSB title hopes as over.
Josh Brookes has vowed not to change his approach for the penultimate British Superbike Championship round at Silverstone, despite declaring himself out of the title fight following a disastrous weekend in Assen.

Considered a favourite for the BSB title alongside Shane Byrne and Ryuichi Kiyonari coming into the BSB Title Showdown, two DNFs at Assen have already left Brookes facing a substantial 51 point deficit to Byrne with five races remaining.

Consigning himself out of the title battle, the Milwaukee Yamaha rider insists he remains focused on the ultimate goal of race wins.

"Looking at Silverstone, there has been no obvious pattern with some of the other tracks we have been to in order to gauge an idea on how we will perform. There have been events where it has gone well and some where it has not gone so well and they don't follow an obvious order.

“That aside, I am looking forward to Silverstone and I hope that we can have a normal weekend with no dramas - that is what I am hoping for as that would be nice after recent rounds.

"I am still approaching this weekend like I do with any other and that is to try and do the best I can every time we are on track and I want to get back to winning again."

still on edge Brooks, i know is not easy the champ now but nobody knows, never knows what could happen, still for the win, the least is stay ahead Bridewell and glinch the 3rd...much respect for this incredible rider, as for the others... i think if he say some time ago is his last season here, should be because he have another rider in other place, i hope so... thats the reason because i would like the championship for him...
