for BSB Brands Hatch FP1 results
Howie Mainwaring and Dan Linfoot emerged from the opening free practice session for the 2014 BSB Brands Hatch finale with a 1-2 result as they prospered on a drying circuit.
In a session that started wet, many riders waited until the closing minutes to set a representative time, leaving Mainwaring and Linfoot to capitalise on their Quattro Plant Kawasakis, the former leading the way by a clear six tenths of a second.
James Ellison made it an all-Kawasaki top three in third place, with title contender Ryuichi Kiyonari jumping up to fourth place in the closing stages having only taken to track in the last five minutes. Similarly, his main rival Shane Byrne waited until very late to head out on track, but could only get as high as 18th place.
James Westmoreland followed his team-mate in fifth place, ahead of Filip Backlund – who starred in the wet in Assen -, Gary Mason, Chris Walker, Jon Kirkham and Julien Da Costa completing the top ten.
