Ryuichi Kiyonari's hopes of winning the 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship title could be left in tatters after a crash in a damp FP3 session left him in a fractured left collarbone.

The Japanese rider suffered a high-side at Graham Hill Bend and fell heavily, the three-time champion promptly taken to the medical centre where an x-ray revealed he sustained an undisplaced fracture of the left collarbone.

As it stands, Kiyonari - who did walk away from the crash - is undergoing physio and been given pain relief, but the decision has now been taken that he will not qualify or compete in the first race today.

Damn.
Nothing against Byrne but I was hoping Kiyo would lift the title.
No chance now. I bet Sunday ticket sales will be well down now too.
Can Kiyo even compete in races 2 & 3 if he missed qualifying?
