BSB: Mossey joins Mainwaring at Quattro Plant Kawasaki

Quattro Plant Kawasaki retains race winner Howie Mainwaring and signs Supersport standout Luke Mossey for its 2015 British Superbike campaign.
Luke Mossey will step up to the British Superbike Championship in 2015 after being signed to join Howie Mainwaring in the Quattro Plant team.

The customer Kawasaki team enjoyed its best-ever BSB campaign in 2014 after Dan Linfoot reached the Title Showdown en route to fifth overall, while Mainwaring took an unexpected maiden victory in the final round at Brands Hatch.

With Linfoot heading to Honda Racing in 2015, Quattro Plant Kawasaki has retained Mainwaring – who ended the year 14th overall – and signed Supersport front runner Mossey, who was seventh overall in 2014 with two wins to his name.

"I am really looking forward to the season, I think even more than I did last year,” said Mainwaring. “It is my second year with the team and it feels nice to be signed and ready, especially as we ended the year so strongly at the final few rounds. It is great to have Luke as a team-mate as I feel like we can work together in his first season.

“The last round at Brands Hatch was fantastic and it all came together for me and the team and I want to start the 2015 season picking up where we left off. We know the team are capable of being in the Showdown, Dan (Linfoot) proved that last year, so that is where I want to be. We need to be consistently fighting at the front."

"I feel the time is right for me to move up to the Superbike Championship now after five years in Supersport,” added Mossey. “I really want to step up and prove that we can be moving forward and be at the front. I was given this opportunity and I believe that I need to be aiming for the top ten before the end of the season. I know the team are capable - we saw that at the final round at Brands Hatch this year. I am really buzzing for next year, I can't wait."

Following its breakout season in 2014, team owner Peter Extance is confident the groundwork laid by Linfoot will see the team continue to be a front runner next year.

"We enjoyed a great season in 2014 with both Howie and Dan (Linfoot). We firmly believe with Howie's new found form and confidence we will be back battling for a Showdown position again in 2015 after ending this year so strongly.

"Luke is a real breath of fresh air to the team and I feel he is now ready to take on the challenges of the Superbike. The team are fully aware Luke needs time on the bike and will be heading to Spain with Howie as soon as possible to start off the 2015 season.

“Luke knows he will need to be at the top of his game in his rookie season on the Superbike but he is confident he will surprise some of the regular top riders. Thanks again to Quattro Plant and all our sponsors for the continued support for 2015."
