A mainstay of the British Superbike Championship, though Peter Hickman started 2014 on the cusp of a double century of BSB starts with just a single podium to his name, he can proudly label himself a BSB race winner now.

Indeed, that day - in the pouring rain at Cadwell Park - could not have seemed less likely in April when the season got underway without Hickman on the grid, the 27 year-old having been overlooked for a full-time ride during GBmoto's migration to Kawasaki machinery.

A moment to savour for one of the field's best-liked riders, it was a landmark result for the new RAF Reserves Superbike team and a fitting tribute to Andrews around the circuit where he claimed his one and only podium result in BSB.

The momentum of that win would see Hickman recover ground to end the year in 11th place overall, just five points shy of the top ten, despite missing two events. Fortunately, you haven't forgotten his achievements and rewarded him with a fine seventh place in your Rider of the Year poll...
