Stuart Easton is confident he can 'hit the ground running' at the first British Superbike test of 2015 in Almeria, Spain.

The 31-year-old rider returns for a second consecutive season on the Kawasaki ZX-10R in BSB after finishing seventh in the riders' standings, just outside the Showdown places in 2014. The Scot says he is determined to build on last year's experience after winning the Supersort title in 2013.

"The team have a good plan of what we need to get through [in Almeria] so hopefully we can get some of that boxed off early," Easton said. "Last year when we had our first test I was coming straight off a 600 from Supersport so to start with the same team and bike gives me a better start already. I am hopeful that we can hit the ground running."

The 2014 Macau Grand Prix winner will be joined at the test by BSB team-mate and defending champion Shane Byrne as well as eight-time Isle of Man TT winner Ian Hutchinson. The trio will test the Paul Bird Motorsport Kawasaki bikes and Easton says he's be itching to be back racing.

"We want to be back out there, so when the team said we were going testing I was like 'yes!' I haven't been out on the bike since Macau and then on a circuit since Brands Hatch in October so it feels good to know we are getting the ball rolling and getting stuck in," he added.

The BSB season commences with the season-opener at Donington Park on the 4-6 April.
