Tommy Bridewell says the new BMW S1000RR is 'just a dream' to ride as he begins pre-season testing in Cartagena in Spain ahead of the 2015 MCE British Superbike championship.

The 26-year-old rider, who finished third in the riders' champion last season with Milwaukee Yamaha, has switched to the Tyco BMW for the new season and the test in Cartagena represents the first time he has ridden the full race bike in anger.

The Wiltshire-born rider has given raving reviews of the S1000RR, adding he was instantly impressed with the bike.

"I have found this morning really good, the bike is mind-blowing, absolutely just a dream," Bridewell told Britishsuperbike.com. "I knew it was going to be good and that we would be strong and competitive but I didn't quite realise the bike was going to be as strong as it is at this stage.

"We are so early in development that when we get to round one, we will have made a massive step again. I am feeling so happy and comfortable on the bike that I am so happy."

Bridewell and his new team-mate Michael Laverty will complete the three-day test at Cartagena (5-8 March) before moving on to Guadix in Spain for a second three-day test (9-11 March). The team will then return to its UK base before heading to the Donington Park test day on 26th March.
