James Ellison is targeting the first 'victory' of the 2015 BSB season - at the official pre-season test day at Donington Park.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider was thoroughly satisfied with the Spanish winter tests and the work completed on his ZX-10R. The 34-year-old has now set himself the objective of finishing at the top of the timesheets at the Donington Park test.

"We know we improved in Spain, but everybody else improves every year too so we will be interested to see where we are at now compared to everyone else," Ellison said. "Up until now it is hard to gauge as there has been no official timing and everyone has tested at different circuits.

"This test is very important. It is a pre-race event and there is no doubt in my mind that we need to leave there quickest.

"There is no other plan or goal, we need to work hard and leave knowing we are where we need to be for the opening round. This is an important part of the season and we need to come out at the top."

The former MotoGP rider enjoyed a positive start to his 2014 campaign with JG Speedfit Kawasaki, consistently finishing in the top 10 during pre-season testing before making the podium in each of the first six races. Unfortunately, a nasty crash at Brands Hatch saw Ellison suffer a broken femur which curtailed his shot at the title.

Back for a second season with the GBmoto Kawasaki team and returning fully fit, the Lancashire-born rider will be aiming to contest the championship title and feels he has the package to support him for the season ahead.
