Christian Iddon is targeting the podium at this weekend's second round of the MCE British Superbike season and feels if his Bennetts Suzuki squad can nail his race setup he could be in the mix for race victories sooner than expected.

The 30-year-old notched up a solid start to his 2015 season, with a seventh and a fifth place finish at Donington Park to put him seventh in the riders' championship. The Stockport-based racer says once his team fixed its setup problems with the Suzuki GSX-R1000 he was able to make huge strides forward.

"We had some issues at Donington that didn't allow me to be consistent, but we made some small changes for race two which helped no end, so I'm interested to see if they work for Brands," Iddon said. "If they do we'll have a really good base setting to work from.

"We want to be pushing for wins, but I'll be happy this weekend with two solid finishes if we keep progressing the bike. But once we have it right I don't see any reason why we can't be at the front."

Iddon says he enjoys the 1.2-mile Indy circuit at Brands Hatch and feels the shorter lap will help accelerate the team's progress in developing its race pace.

"I quite like the Brands Indy circuit," he added. "It's a funny little track and I expect everyone to be close on lap times. It also means we can get plenty of laps in and hopefully get a good setup early on."

Brands Hatch Indy circuit acts as round two of the 2015 BSB season and is scheduled for the 17-19th April.
