James Ellison has maintained his lead in the final free practice session edging out Ryuichi Kiyonari by 0.149s around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider grabbed top spot from the three-time BSB champion at the end of FP2 after Kiyonari had led proceedings on Friday morning.
The pair continued to swap fastest lap times around the Kent track but Ellison was able to pull out an extra tenth of a second on his Buildbase BMW rival and now looks favourite to take pole position in qualifying.
Jakub Smrz became the surprise package of round two after moving up to third on the timesheets with a 45.686s on his Loyds British Moto Ducati Panigale R. Danny Buchan grabbed fourth place in FP3, with Josh Brookes rounding out the top five.
The majority of riders continued to chip away at their lap times but in cold conditions a number of racers failed to improve on their FP2 times.
The testing Brands Hatch Indy circuit track acted as a manufacturer leveller with five different production companies represented in the top six in FP3, as Christian Iddon put his Bennetts Suzuki in sixth.
Defending BSB champion Shane Byrne ended the final free practice in seventh, followed by Richard Cooper, Jason O'Halloran and Billy McConnell.
Smiths Racing's McConnell suffered a late crash at Druids and was followed into the dirt by Shaun Winfield in a separate incident.
As riders attempted to get as much out of their bikes as possible in the final five minutes of practice, two further crashes occurred down the Cooper straight, with Team WD-40's Jack Kennedy and Buchan falling in separate incidents.
Unfortunately for Dan Linfoot a crash in FP1 has been ruled out him of this weekend after breaking his wrist on Friday morning. The Honda Racing rider is set to undergo surgery next week and will also be absent from round three at Oulton Park.
The BSB qualifying format sees only top 30 enter into the afternoon session, which means Lee Jackson, Aaron Zanotti, Jenny Tinmouth and Rhalf Lo Turco will start from the back rows on the grid for race one.
