Dan Linfoot is set to undergo surgery after breaking his wrist during free practice one in round two of the MCE British Superbike championship at Brands Hatch.

The Honda Racing rider will have an operation on his right wrist at King's College hospital in London and has been ruled out of round three at Oulton Park on the 2-4 May.

Linfoot suffered the crash within the first 10 minutes of FP1 at Clearways on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. After the break was confirmed by doctors Linfoot was patched up and watched on from the paddock at Brands Hatch.

Despite his injury, the North Yorkshire rider remains upbeat and determined his injury will not seriously hamper his chances of making the Showdown at the end of the year.

Indeed, Linfoot is already targeting a return to racing for round four at Snetterton, scheduled for the 19-21 June.

The 26-year-old enjoyed an strong start at the BSB season opener at Donington Park, ending the first round second in the championship standings after grabbing fourth and second place finishes.
