Jason O'Halloran says his Honda Racing squad is 'in a strong position' heading to the third round of the MCE British Superbike championship at Oulton Park.

The Australian rider has been constantly working on improvements on the Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR since Brands Hatch, where he clinched two top 10 finishes around the Indy circuit, and says the team has a clearer idea of the bike's potential Oulton Park.

Last week the Honda racer ended the mid-season test at the Cheshire Park tenth on the timesheet and feels with some small adjustments the bike will be competitive enough to challenge at the sharp end of the BSB grid.

"I'm really looking forward to the weekend and feel I'm in a positive place going into the third round," O'Halloran said. "We had a good test last week at Oulton Park and moving on from Brands I feel we're in a strong position. During the test we worked on some different shock settings and have a few small things to fine tune.

"Once we have done that we'll be in a better place than at Brands, where we had the two top-ten finishes. Oulton Park is a great circuit and I really enjoy riding there, so can't wait to get back out there for the weekend."

O'Halloran is currently 11th in the BSB riders' standings and involved in a tight mid-pack battle as just six points separate him and Ryuichi Kiyonari who occupies the final Showdown spot.
