Stuart Easton says his third position in qualifying is job done ahead of the races for round three of the MCE British Superbike at Oulton Park.

The PBM Kawasaki rider jumped ahead of his team-mate Shane Byrne and Buildbase BMW rider Ryuichi Kiyonari with his final flying lap of 1m 35.006s in the pole position shootout to secure his first front row start of the year.

"It was good to get front row," Easton said. "The weather was kind to us despite a few spots of rain which was a bit unnerving. We got the job done with the front row which was our plan for today."

The 31-year-old rider also says the light spots of rain did unsettle him on his final flying lap but he was able to ignore the conditions to qualify as top Kawasaki rider.

"More mental [the rain] than anything perhaps," he added. "At 150mph the rain spots may seem worse than they actually are and the track temperature was hot enough to burn it off but it still makes you think twice."
