Tommy Bridewell says his tyre troubles are finally behind him on the Tyco BMW and he hopes it will give him a more consistent race pace at Oulton Park.

The Wiltshire rider has been challenging at the front all race weekend at the Cheshire track for the third round of the MCE British Superbike and put his Tyco BMW on the front row of the grid for race one.

On Sunday's warm-up session Bridewell notched up the quickest lap which demonstrated the BMW's improved pace over a single lap. The rider believes he can improve his performance over a race distance now his Tyco BMW squad has mastered the softer Pirelli Zero tyre.

"We've now managed to get the bike to work with a Pirelli Zero tyre so we've got good race pace on a Zero," Bridewell said. "That is where we've been struggling in the races as we've had to run the One and not had the grip to battle. Now we can race on the Zero it will help us."

Bridewell's best result so far this season has been two sixth places and starting Oulton Park's race one from second position makes it highly likely he'll improve this weekend.

"I've come from the back before and the front so I'm not too worried. It's nice to be at the front but we have to make a good start now. It also depends on the weather."
