Lee Costello has been added to the Morello Racing Kawasaki rider line up ahead of the fourth round of the MCE British Superbike championship at Snetterton.

Costello, a former BSB podium finisher, joins Danny Johnson at the Norwich-based team, who is hunting its first points of the year in its debut British Superbike season.

"It's a really nice feeling to be given the chance to race a Superbike again and when this offer came up from Morello I just couldn't say no," Costello told britishsuperbike.com "The last time I raced or rode a Superbike was at the start of 2014 so I know it isn't going to be an easy task. I plan to get on, ride it and try to get stuck in.

Morello Racing team owner Steve Buckenham has welcomed the Bolton-based rider with open arms and hopes the 28-year-old can help the team push on for the remainder of the year.

"We are looking forward to working with him as we continue to strive for results in our debut season in the Superbike class," Buckenham said.

Costello competed for Halsall Racing in 2013 and 2014, where he grabbed a creditable second place finish at the 2013 season finale at Brands Hatch.
