Broc Parkes has undergone a successful surgery after struggling with arm pump at Knockhill last time out in the MCE British Superbike championship.

The Australian rider travelled to Barcelona to have the surgery after complaining of arm pump at the Scottish circuit two weeks ago, where he fought to a pair of 14th place finishes on his Milwaukee Yamaha R1.

The former MotoGP racer has confirmed he is fully fit for round six of BSB this weekend at Brands Hatch where he will be keen to pick up some much-needed championship points.

"Since the last round at Knockhill I have been and had arm pump surgery so that should help me in the second half of the year," Parkes said. "The operation went well in Barcelona and now I am focused on next weekend and doing the best job possible to try and get back up the standings."

Parkes currently sits 17th in the BSB championship on 27 points and a sizeable 49 points off the Showdown spots. Looking to bridge that gap, the Australian hopes his experience at the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit will give him an edge over his rivals.

"I have had some World Supersport wins there [the GP circuit] so we need to be pushing forward again, because I know we can be competitive this weekend."
