Broc Parkes has pulled out of this weekend's round seven of the MCE British Superbike championship after suffering with swelling in his left arm and will be replaced by British Superstock 1000 rider Adam Jenkinson.
The former MotoGP rider underwent double arm pump surgery three weeks ago to relieve the discomfort he had been suffering with and rode through it at Brands Hatch in BSB and at the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours.
It has beeen revealed that on the flight from Suzuka to the UK for round seven of BSB his left arm started swelling badly.
Parkes was able to compete in free practice one at Thruxton but was off the pace, ending the session a lowly 29th and 2.817s off his team-mate and timesheet topper Josh Brookes. The decision to switch Parkes out for Jenkinson was confirmed by Milwaukee Yamaha team manager Mick Shanley.
Jenkinson, who topped the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 free practice session at the Hampshire for Northern Escalator Installations Yamaha, will step in for the Australian for the rest of the weekend.
Parkes will rest his arms and is targeting a competitive comeback at Cadwell Park for round eight of the 2015 BSB championship in three weeks time.
