Silverstone hosts 2016 BSB opener on provisional calendar

The 2016 BSB calendar has been revealed with Silverstone hosting the season-opener as Donington Park takes its place as the first Showdown round
The MCE British Superbike 2016 provisional calendar has been released with Silverstone set to host the season-opener while Donington Park takes its place as part of the Showdown rounds.

Round 11 of the current BSB championship is being held at the Northamptonshire circuit this weekend and the paddock is set to return to Silverstone on the 8-10 April for the 2016 curtain raiser.

The majority of the 2016 season follows the calendar of the ongoing championship with a few switches; including Brands Hatch Indy and Oulton Park being swapped for rounds two and three as well as Snetterton and Knockhill trading rounds five and six.

BSB will once again make a second trip back to Oulton Park for the triple-header, final round before the Showdown takes effect.

The Showdown format remains as expected with Donington Park kicking things off before a trip across the English channel to Assen, with Brands Hatch GP holding its traditional place as the season finale on 14-16 October.
