Byrne regains feeling with Be Wiser Ducati

Shane Byrne says he's rediscovered his positive feeling with the Be Wiser Ducati at Guadix after a difficult pre-season test at Cartagena as he continues setup work.

The four-time BSB champion struggled to uncover hot lap pace and performance last week but after switching circuits and making a number of adjustments he is confident he's found a solid base to work from as Spanish testing slowly concludes ahead of the 2016 MCE British Superbike championship.

"I was one hundred percent convinced that when we actually got out on another circuit after Cartagena we would be in a much better position than we had been and for sure that has happened,” Byrne told britishsuperbike.com. “The Be Wiser Ducati is running much better here and I am feeling much happier riding.”

Despite still lacking time to his rivals over a single lap the Be Wise Ducati rider feels the progress made on Pirelli's harder compound will pay dividends further down the line.

“There is still plenty more work still to do but the positive thing for me is that our fastest lap of today, even though it is so cold we shouldn't really have been pushing, was on lap 17 of a hard rear tyre,” he explained. “We haven't put any soft tyres in the bike, so to be as close as we are is really good. We know there is a big performance change between the two tyres so all in all it has been good."
