Leon Haslam has taken his charge to the top of the timesheet in the last free practice session at a soaking wet Oulton Park as the BSB riders were given an ample opportunity to set-up for wet weather racing.

Despite a bright and sunny start to the day the rain rolled in as FP3 went green at the Cheshire track which meant the riders were hesitant against being overly aggressive with qualifying this afternoon.

Haslam made a late jump to the top with a 1m 47.682s, some 12 seconds off of the pace set in the dry, and held on to the quickest time ahead of JG Speedfit Kawasaki team-mate James Ellison.

Be Wiser Ducati's Shane Byrne made it three title favourites inside the top three with Dan Linfoot and Tommy Bridewell half a second back in fourth and fifth respectively.

John Hopkins was a notable faller towards the end of the session which denied his progress down in 19th, while Matej Smrz also suffered a late tumble on the PR Racing Kawasaki.

Glenn Irwin continued to make steady progress in seventh ahead of three-time BSB champion Ryuichi Kiyonari, with Lee Jackson and Michael Laverty rounding out the top ten in the wet session.
