Leon Haslam has ended the second day of the in-season Snetterton test quickest but failed to beat Michael Laverty's top time from the opening day as rain curtailed the final session.

The MCE British Superbike championship leader held off a persistent challenge from Honda's Jason O'Halloran to top the second session on day two with a 1m 48.277s to edge out the Australian rider by just over one-tenth.

Shane Byrne continued to refine the Be Wiser Ducati package and completed the day third fastest despite suffering an off which he walked away from unharmed.

His late lap saw James Ellison take fourth place and just 0.031s up on Glenn Irwin on the second Be Wiser Ducati.

Tommy Bridewell, who once again was the fastest starter to the day with a top time in the opening session, ended up sixth overall on the Bennetts Suzuki in front of Danny Buchan on the Lloyds British Moto Rapido Ducati and the third JG Speedfit Kawasaki of Peter Hickman who is fresh from his road racing exploits.

Dan Linfoot and Billy McConnell completed the top ten runners with RAF Reserves BMW's test rider Jake Dixon narrowly missing out in 11th and ahead of BSB regular Alastair Seeley.

Tyco BMW opted not to run on the second day of the Snetterton test having seen Michael Laverty top the times on day one.
