Jake Dixon has demonstrated grit and determination to grab a points finish in his maiden MCE British Superbike weekend after suffering a heavy hit from PR Racing's Josh Wainwright in race one at Knockhill.

After grabbing an impressive start in his debut BSB race on the RAF Reserves BMW, Dixon was helpless in avoiding an off when mentor and manager Shane Byrne crashed in front of him at the final hairpin, leaving the 20-year-old nowhere to escape from running into the stricken Be Wiser Ducati machine.

While scrambling to pick up his RAF Reserves BMW on the hairpin the unsighted Wainwright clattered into Dixon who was sent sprawling.

The youngster was immediately attended to by the medical team and after receiving the all-clear returned in race two to claim a commendable 13th place.
