Dan Linfoot feels he has set up his Honda ready for a charge towards the front this weekend after finishing Friday fourth overall.

The BSB Showdown contender says he is satisfied with the progress made setting up his Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR at Brands Hatch after claiming second in FP1 before slipping slightly to fourth in the second session with a top time of 1m 25.853s.

"It is early days and I never really come alive until Saturday so I am not really looking into it too much but I am fairly happy with being fourth," Linfoot said. "It was the fastest ever lap time I have done here so we'll keep working to be ready for Superpole and the races.

"We've been tailoring the bike for this track after Thruxton and it feels just as strong. I felt fast at Thruxton and I feel fast here so we'll aim to up the pace. I need two strong finishes again and two podium ideally."

Despite the aging Honda set to be replaced in World Superbikes for 2017, the 28-year-old feels his Honda Racing squad can still find gains and a competitive set-up against its rival manufacturers as the tight and twisty nature of the majority of the UK tracks plays to the strengths of the bike.

"I think it is a good bike for the UK tracks which are really technical and twisty, whereas at World Superbikes when the Honda is not quite as strong because they are big, long, fast and flowing tracks so it suits BSB more," he said.
