James Ellison says he enters the deciding round for the MCE British Superbike Showdown with the same targets as another other round aiming to battle for rostrum results.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider holds a key top six spot heading to the triple-header at Oulton Park with seven points separating him from nearest challenger Richard Cooper and Luke Mossey who are level on points.

After enjoying recent gains at Cadwell Park, Ellison is solely focused on returning to the rostrum in order to secure his place in the BSB Showdown.

"Oulton Park is my local track and a circuit I really love riding so I always look forward to racing there," Ellison said. "We had a very positive test at Cadwell at the start of the week and we're narrowing down on the problem that's been affecting us and I think we're now in a positon to get back to where we belong this weekend.

"The Showdown is our goal, but I'm not approaching this weekend any different. Our aim is to be on the podium every round and I feel we've now made that step so we can be challenging for the rostrum again and start getting our Championship challenge back on track."
