Jake Dixon has been treated in hospital for a dislocated and fractured hip suffered in the final race of the triple-header at Oulton Park.

The Briggs Equipment BMW rider, who has already signed to stay in the MCE British Superbike championship for 2017, crashed heavily at Brittens on lap five of race three and was immediately transported to the medical centre by ambulance before being transferred to hospital.

The 20-year-old had been in strong form after finishing Friday free practice third fastest overall at the Cheshire track before taking 11th place in race one and 8th in race two.

His run of results have seen him rise up to 14th in the BSB riders' championship despite only joining the series in Knockhill for round four.

Dixon is waiting on news from doctors on whether he will require surgery on his injured hips which will determine his recovery schedule but it is unlikely he will be able to return to action before the end of the season.
